The Blowing My Skirt Up

There's a great band I somehow just found out about yesterday while listening to WOXY internet radio. The band is The Blow, of Portland, Oregon. In the last 24 hours I have probably made the mistake I usually make when I fall in love with a sound: too much of a good thang.

Making a Beeline for the SOV

My Burning Man associate Zach Slow from the Playa Book of Records is mounting a determined campaign for a night on the town with the amazing British rapper Lady Sovereign.

I kicked in some jing - $30 - to help the cause. An excellent effort, and after three days he's raised enough money, by his lights, to pull off the following:

$201-$500:      After I get Lady Sovereign a fake ID, we'll be off to some of San Francisco's famous dive bars. We'll be able to drink well, and have enough blunts to kill Cypress Hill. Luckily we'll be in San Francisco so we can just tell the doormen that our blunts are for "medical reasons only."
